St. Louis, Mo. - The #8 Lawrence Technological University Blue Devils D-III men's hockey team took on the #3 Florida Gulf Coast Eagles in the last match of pool play.
The Blue Devils came away 3-1 winners but were eliminated from advancing after the Michigan Wolverines went 3-0 in pool play.
How It Happened:
- Connor Juhasz set up Gavin Holmes to give the Blue Devils an early 1-0 lead
- LTU led 1-0 at the first intermission
- Sawyer Walker doubled the lead with Martino Zaia's help
- The Blue Devils led 2-0 after two periods
- Evan McNamara put one in the back of the net, from Jacob Toy
- Adam Parker's power-play goal with 1:45 left iced the game. Walker was credited with the assist.
- Lawrence Tech wins 3-1.
This concludes a great season for the Blue Devils (22-7-3), finishing as the top seed in the conference and sixth-ranked in the country, and receiving a bid to the national tournament.
