#10 Lawrence Tech Trounces Taylor 19-4

Southfield, Mich. – The #10 Lawrence Technological University men's lacrosse team routed the Taylor University Trojans 19-4 in a Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference game on Wednesday evening.

Grady Holmes scored nine times for the Blue Devils to tie the program's single-game goals mark set by current Blue Devils assistant coach Tristan Burkhard on 3/8/17.

How It Happened:
  • Wyatt Nedball started the scoring for LTU with his coast to coast goal two minutes into the contest
  • Clayton Hauff found Grady Holmes for his eighth of the season at the 11:35 mark before Nick Soukup netted the first goal of his career one minute later
  • Holmes scored the next two goals as LTU tacked on two more markers to stretch the margin to 7-0
  • The Trojans scored with 48 seconds left in the first as they trailed 7-1 after 15 minutes
  • Matthew Stedtefeld followed up an Eli Lozinski goal to make it 9-1 LTU
  • After Taylor scored with seven seconds left in the half, Lozinski added his second tally right before the horn with two seconds remaining as LTU held an 11-2 break at the intermission
  • Holmes netted the first two-goal of the third but Taylor responded with two of its own, still trailing by double digits at 14-4
  • Jacob Cianci scored his first of the season, unassisted to put the Blue Devils ahead 15-4 heading to the fourth
  • Another unassisted tally from Holmes at the 12:35 mark extended the LTU advantage to 12, 16-4 as he followed up with his eighth marker of the night 2:35 later off a dish from Maveric Muscat
  • The combo teamed up just 13 seconds later at the 9:47 mark as Muscat recorded his third straight helper and fifth assist of the evening as LTU ran out the rest of the clock to win by a final of 19-4
Inside the Numbers:
  • Holmes was efficient with his nine goals as he took just 12 shots
  • Muscat was second on the team in points with five
  • Nedbal led LTU with four groundballs while Chase Alveron caused three turnovers
  • Trevor Maitland was 4-of-5 on faceoffs in the second half
  • Goalkeeper Brent Matthews made 11 saves in the cage
