Campbellsville, Ky. – The Lawrence Technological University men's volleyball team was down one set to none and two sets to one before ultimately forcing a fifth set on their way to falling at (RV) Campbellsville University (23-25, 25-23, 17-25, 25-22, 11-15) on Wednesday night.
First Set:
- Felix Perez kill put LTU up 12-6 in first set
- The Tigers took four straight points to pull within one at 20-19
- CU won 4-of-6 to go ahead one at 23-22
- Connor Cooper kill knotted the match at 23-23 before back-to-back Tigers' kills won the set 25-23
Second Set:
- Simon Phillip found JT McCarthy to give LTU a 15-12 advantage
- A pair of CU attack errors held the LTU lead at four, 23-19
- The Tigers' won three straight points to trim the margin to one, 23-22
- Perez halts the run at 24-22 before a CU service error gives the set to LTU 25-23
Third Set:
- CU starts the set on a 7-0 run before extending the lead to 11-2
- Jeffry Fuhrmann chips away at the deficit, making it 15-9 CU
- Three consecutive points by the Tigers stretches the margin back to nine at 22-13
- Zach Narkiewicz kill makes it a six-point match, 23-17
- CU closes out the set with back-to-back points, 25-17
Fourth Set:
- Three CU errors put LTU ahead 12-10
- Phillip finds McCarthy to make it 21-18 Blue Devils
- A setter kill from Phillip wins set for LTU, 25-22
Fifth Set:
- Tigers double up Blue Devils early, 10-5
- Back-to-back kills by McCarthy and Perez pull LTU within three at 10-7
- The teams trade a pair of errors as the Blue Devils trail by two, 12-10
- CU wins three of the last four to win set 15-11
