GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The #10 Lawrence Technological University men's lacrosse team was unable to dig themselves out of a first-half hole as they fell to the #5 Aquinas College Saints 17-8 in a Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference game on Saturday afternoon.
How It Happened:
- AQ scored four times in the first quarter, all even-strength, to lead 4-0 after 15 minutes of play.
- The Blue Devils held the Saints to just three goals in the second but LTU had trouble getting on the board as they trailed 7-0 at the break.
- The Saints made it 10-0 with 4:15 to go in the third before Grady Holmes got the Blue Devils on the scoresheet with a tally at the 3:16 mark.
- After AQ scored next, LTU scored three times in the last 1:28 of the quarter with markers by Maveric Muscat, TJ Kaminski, and Tehaluntasele Cornelius to cut the margin to seven at 11-4.
- The Blue Devils were unable to ride that momentum into the fourth however as the Saints opened the frame with five-straight goals to extend the margin to 16-4.
- Cornelius broke the run with a man-up marker which was followed by Damien Hudson's 10th of the season to make it a 10-goal game.
- The Saints netted their 17th of the game with 5:53 to go as Holmes and Ryan Pastorino added late tallies for the Blue Devils.
