Utica, MI - The Lawrence Technological University baseball team played a doubleheader against Madonna University on Sunday.
How It Happened: Game One - LTU 7, MU 4
- Madonna started the scoring with a 2-run double from Jace Matkin
- LTU answered bac when Jake Llaneza scored on an error
- Harry Storch brought in Nathan Brown to tie it at 2 in the fifth
- Nick Olsen and Jackson Walkowiak each homered to extend the lead to 7-2
- Matkin and Ryan Celmer hit solo homers for Madonna, but it wasn't enough to come back
How It Happened: Game Two - LTU 13, MU 12
- Madonna scored three in the first
- Olsen hit a home run to right center
- In the third, Celmer hit an RBI single to right to give the Crusaders a three-run lead
- Olsen hit another bomb, this one a three-run homer to tie the game
- Llaneza scored on an error
- Trent Reed singled in Walkowiak to extend the Blue Devils' lead to two, then proceeded to score on a wild pitch
- Anthony Sharkas would homer in the fourth to bring the game within one run
- Sharkas' sac fly tied the game in the fifth
- In the bottom of the fifth, Kellen Banaszewski doubled in Walkowiak
- Madonna scored three in the sixth
- The Crusaders added an insurance run in the seventh to take a three run lead down the stretch
- LTU scored four in the eighth
- The Blue Devils took this one 13-12
