Addison, IL - The #5 Lawrence Technological University women's bowling team competed in the ITC Bowling Championships this past weekend. The Blue Devils qualified in second place with a score of 2424 after 12 games bowled. LTU ended the weekend inside the top 12 overall out of 16 teams after bracket play.
Daniella DeCruydt was the top LTU bowler finishing in 14th place overall. DeCruydt bowled scores of 209, 230, 148, 216, 176, and 203 for an overall total score of 1180.Â
Finishing in 16th place for the Blue Devils was
Victoria Giardina with an overall score of 1160. Giardina recorded scores of 222, 198, 154, 184, 176, and 226.
There was a total of 24 bowlers for the women.
In bracket play, which was separated into two pools (blue and red bracket). LTU was in the blue bracket and matched up with Sam Houston State University in round one. Sam Houston State would go on to defeat the Blue Devils by a final score of in the best of seven, 4-3..Â
In the losers bracket, LTU would go on to beat Tulane 4-3, then lose in the next round to Mount Mercy by a final score of 4-1.
In the singles bracket, Giardina lost her game in round one to Rebecca Dodson by a score of 532-577.
DeCruydt was paired against Shelbi Morris in round one. DeCruydt lost her game 545-591.
This marks the end of the season for the Blue Devils, who won the WHAC Championship, qualified for the NAIA Nationals and had several All-American performers in 2021-22.
