MARION, Ind. - The Lawrence Technological University Blue Devils women's soccer team took the road to square off against 13th ranked Indiana Wesleyan Wildcats. The matchup ended with the Blue Devils taking their first defeat of the season.
Sarah Foulk got the scoring started for Indiana Wesleyan with a goal in the second minute.
Foulk added her second goal in the fourth minute.
Sydney Brown scored the third goal off a rebound from a Gabi Nelson save, giving IWU a 3-0 lead in the eighth minute.
Before the half ended, Indiana Wesleyan tacked on three more goals in the 13th, 16th and 20th minutes to extend their lead to six.
In the second half, IWU scored twice more, once in the 53rd minute, and finally in the 77th minute.
The Blue Devils were out shot 24-5.
The Lawrence Tech women's soccer team looks to avenge this loss on Wednesday, August 24th in their home opener against Mount Vernon Nazarene University at 7:30pm.Â
