SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - The Lawrence Technological University women's volleyball team clashed against conference rival Rochester in a battle of WHAC foes. The Blue Devils would battle and take down the Warriors by scores of 22-25, 25-17, 25-12, 23-25, 15-9.
Set One:
- Rochester took an early 8-3 lead
- The Blue Devils scored 6-of-7 to knot it at nine each
- Back-to-back Hubler kills gave the Blue Devils a 12-10 lead
- A Madeline Hudson kill led to a Rochester timeout at 19-17
- The Warriors would take 8-of-11 following the timeout
- RU won set one 25-22
Set Two:
- A Charley Klint kill gave the Blue Devils an early 11-5 advantage
- LTU took 5-of-8 to jump out to a 16-8 lead
- Rochester takes 5-of-6 to bring the game within five (22-17)
- Abby Zambeck ended set two with a service ace, 25-17 LTU
Set Three:
- Rochester sprints to a 8-5 lead
- Lawrence Tech takes 20-of-24, led by seven Juliana Bollini service aces to take the third set 25-12
Set Four:
- Kills by Klint and Hudson gave LTU the early 7-4 lead
- A kill and service ace by Madeline Geisenhaver knotted the game at nine
- LTU took 8-of-10, to take a 17-11 lead
- RU stormed back taking 12-of-14 to give them a 23-19 advantage
- The Blue Devils would not go down without a fight, taking the next 4-of-5 to bring it within one (23-24)
- Olivia Francis' kill gave set four to Rochester, 25-23, to force a tie-breaking fifth set
Set Five:
- The Blue Devils jumped out to a 12-3 lead
- The Warriors answered back with four straight points
- The teams would trade back-to-back points, making the score 14-9
- Lindsay Hubler would end the match on a kill, winning set five 15-9 and the match 3-2.
