SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - The Lawrence Technological University women's volleyball team clashed against conference rival Concordia in a battle of WHAC foes. The Blue Devils would beat the Cardinals in straight sets by scores of 25-23, 25-15, 32-30.
Set One:
- LTU took an early 4-2 lead
- The Cardinals scored 3-of-4 to knot it at five each
- An attack error by LTU gave CUAA an 11-8 advantage
- Kills by Abby Zambeck and Lindsay Hubler tied the game at 11
- Back-to-back attack errors led to a Comcordia lead at 19-17
- LTU would take the next 7-of-8 leading to a CUAA timeout, now down 22-20
- Riley O'Connell's kill would end the first set 25-23, LTU
Set Two:
- O'Connell's service ace led to an early 5-3 LTU advantage
- Back-to-back Madeline Hudson kills led to six straight LTU points
- An O'Connell kill gave the Blue Devils a 16-8 lead, forcing a CUAA timeout
- The Blue Devils would take 6-of-10 to gain a 22-12 lead
- Charley Klint ended set two with a kill, 25-15 LTU
Set Three:
- Concordia grabbed an early 3-1 advantage
- Lawrence Tech stormed back with five straight points to claim their first lead of the set
- CUAA took the next 5-of-7 to tie the set at eight
- The Cardinals took a 17-15 lead following an LTU attack error
- Klint and Catelyn Chapin's block assist gave LTU a 24-22 lead
- CUAA took the next three points to take a 25-24 lead, however, the set has to win by two
- The teams alternated the next 11 points, CUAA led 30-29
- Lawrence Tech finishes off the Cardinals by taking the final three points to win by two, 32-30, winning the match 3-0.
