ADRIAN, Mich.--The Lawrence Tech football team had a solid defensive effort in the second half at Siena Heights, but couldn't overcome a slow start in the first half as the host Saints prevailed 31-10 in a Mid-States Football Association Mideast League game at O'Laughlin Stadium on Saturday. Siena Heights improves to 5-3 overall and 3-2 in the MSFA Mideast, while the LTU Blue Devils drop to 1-7 overall and 0-5 in the MSFA Mideast.
How it Happened
- The Blue Devils held the Saints to a field goal over the last 30 minutes, but SHU built a commanding 28-10 lead at the intermission.
- Siena Heights got on the scoreboard first on its first possession with a Credell Prather 24-yard touchdown reception from Elijah Taylor with 10 minutes and 33 seconds left in the opening quarter, capping a six-play, 61-yard scoring drive in 3:06 time of possession.
- Taylor threw a 54-yard TD pass to Eric Williams II to give SHU a 14-0 lead with 2:20 remaining in the first stanza.
- Lawrence Tech cut the deficit in half with 13:19 showing on the clock in the second quarter, when Jaden Rembert caught a 4-yard TD toss from Alex Osman. The Blue Devils special teams unit got a fumble recovery at the SHU 18 on a punt return to give the offense great field position.
- The Blue Devils' Vincent Robison booted a 40-yard field goal with 6 seconds to wrap up the scoring in the first half.
