Southfield, Mich. - The Lawrence Tech men's soccer team defeated Siena Heights in another WHAC matchup Wednesday night. The Saints coming into tonight's matchup tied with the Blue Devils for first place in the WHAC standings, both with a 2-0-1 record, the Blue Devils broke the tie winning 3-1. The Blue Devils improve to 9-1-1 overall and 3-0-1 in the conference, while the Gray Wolves fall to 6-4-1 and 2-1-1.

Kieran Malachino started the game for the Blue Devils. Siena Heights had five shots on goal and Malachino recorded four saves.
From the opening whistle, Lawrence Tech displayed its dominance on the field. LTU didn't waste any time to take the first lead of the game as freshmen Timotej Murcko opened the scoring in the 12th minute. As the first half started to get closer to a close, sophomore Guillermo Garcia scored to give the Blue Devils a 2-0 lead by halftime.
The Blue Devils continued to apply offensive pressure in the second half, and their efforts were rewarded with another goal. Garcia with that goal again. The team's cohesive play and relentless determination resulted in a trio of well-executed goals. However, with just less than six minutes to go in the game, Siena Heights received a penalty shot opportunity, which they capitalized on.
Lawrence Tech has also been receiving votes in the top 25 rankings for the NAIA.
The Blue Devils will host Concordia University for their homecoming game on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
