DiMaggio and Buckberger's Historic Games Cruise Past Mountaineers

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. - The Lawrence Technological Blue Devils women's hockey team took on the Mountaineers from West Virginia. Both teams playing in their first game since the Pittsburgh Showcase. The Blue Devils took initiative early and shut the door before West Virginia even thought they would have a chance, winning 9-1.

Theresa DiMaggio got the scoring started early for LTU, bringing in her first goal at the Farmington Hills Ice Arena.
Sophia Buckberger would add one, from Valeria Ortega.
Kristin McQueen would tack on a third first-period goal.

Little did they know, DiMaggio and Buckberger would go on to have games of their lives. 

In the second period, Buckberger sets up Kathleen Fennessey to find DiMaggio for her second goal. 
Just under three minutes later, Buckberger would score her second goal of the game as well. 
Athena Chapman scored the sixth goal (from Ava Jacob and Buckberger) a few minutes after that. 

West Virginia would get on the board with 3:30 left in the second period. 
LTU would answer back when Jacob (from Buckberger and Jordyn Bebus) would find the crease with 71 second left in the second. 

Bebus (from Jacob and Lochow) joined the goal parade midway through the third. 
DiMaggio and Buckberger linked up once more to cap the off the joint historical performances. 

The Blue Devils (7-3) return to action on Saturday at 5pm against West Virginia.
