Blue Devils Swept by CMU in Tight Matchups

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. - The Blue Devils played hard, but were ultimately swept by CMU in their most recent matchup.

In the series opener on Friday, October 9, Central Michigan captured a hard-fought 3–1 victory over Lawrence Technological University at Farmington Hills Ice Arena. The Chippewas struck early to take command of the scoreboard and relied on tight defensive positioning to suppress the Blue Devils' offensive pushes. Despite LTU generating high-pressure shifts and answering with a goal from Sophia Buckeberger to slice into the deficit, CMU's goaltending held firm under fire in the closing minutes to secure the Game 1 win.

The series wrapped up with another tight defensive battle as Central Michigan edged Lawrence Tech 2–1 to complete the weekend sweep. Both teams locked into a stingy physical contest with minimal room for open-ice chances, keeping the margin razor-thin throughout the night. LTU continued to push late into the third period in search of an equalizer, but CMU successfully shut down the final attack to seal the one-goal victory.

The Blue Devils womens hockey team will be back on the ice October 23rd and 24th for a series against Aquinas.
