Farmington Hills, Mich. — The Lawrence Technological University women's hockey team took on the Central Michigan Chippewas in a CCWHA clash. LTU would go on to win 4-3.
The Blue Devils took an early 1-0 lead when Jordyn Bebus and Sophia Buckberger connected with Sara Bensen late in the first period.
Central Michigan would score 2 goals in 30 seconds early in the second period to take a 2-1 lead.
Athena Chapman would find Theresa DiMaggio who hit Buckberger for her 18th goal of the season, tying the game at 2.
DiMaggio soon followed with a goal of her own, from Bensen and Sydney Lochow, to reclaim the lead for the Blue Devils.
DiMaggio would tack on another goal, from Valeria Ortega and Kathleen Fennessey to extend the advantage to two.
The Chippewas would score one in the final minute to make it close, but would ultimately fall 4-3.
The Blue Devils (9-3) face Central Michigan tomorrow in Mount Pleasant, Mich.
