WHITEHALL, Pa.--The nationally No. 3-ranked Lawrence Tech men's bowling team toppled their second-highest two-day pin total--9,303--for the second straight event on Thursday, when the Blue Devils completed the Lehigh Valley Collegiate Classic at Jordan Lanes. The 9,303 team score was good for third place out of 29 schools.
Lawrence Tech had three student-athletes place in the top-30, including junior
Connor Nowak (27th, 1018 total, 203.6 average), sophomore
Cayleb Carey (29th, 1014, 202.8) and freshman
Ayden Davis (30th, 1006, 201.2).
The Blue Devils had a busy week of competition in the Keystone State to wrap up 2023 as they competed Monday and Tuesday in another United States Bowling Congress Tier 1 event at the Roto Grip Keystone Quaker Classic in Allentown, knocking down 9,292 total pins--also for third place. Lawrence Tech's season high is 9,390 at the Midwest Collegiate Championships on Oct. 7-8.
Connor Breaman of Belmont Abbey College won the individual title out of 213 bowlers with a 1161 total, or a 232.2 average. Indiana Tech (9412) and Muskingum (9408) were the only teams that finished ahead of LTU.
Next up, Lawrence Tech will take a break for the Christmas and New Year's Day holidays before hitting the lanes again in preparation for the Kegal Midwest Collegiate Classic on Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 13 and 14, at Stardust Bowl in Addison, Ill., to start 2024.
