Brandon Beavers stuffed the stats sheet with 22 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists for the first triple-double in the modern era of the Lawrence Tech men's basketball program, leading the Blue Devils to an 85-78 victory Saturday at Concordia (Michigan) in the CUAA Cardinals Fieldhouse.
Lawrence Tech improves to 6-5 on the season while the host Cardinals see their three-game winning streak snapped to fall to 5-4 overall. Both teams are 3-3 in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference.

Concordia (Mich.) Highlights
- Zavion McClendon (8 rebounds) led all scorers with 23 points and he had eight rebounds.
- Joey Garwood added 21 points, followed by Nate Brighton's double-double of 14 points and game-high 15 rebounds and Devyn Jones had 10 points.
- Mason Canfield led the squad with five assists.
How it Happened
- Beavers, who scored 12 points and eight assists in the second half, fed Lund for a kickout three-pointer above the key that gave LTU a 61-53 lead with 9 minutes and 41 seconds left in the game. The Blue Devils never relinquished the lead after that.
- The Cardinals outrebounded the Blue Devils 43-27, but made on 66.7 percent of their free throw attempts (16-24) and committed 15 turnovers that translated to 15 LTU points.
- Lawrence Tech had the greater depth by outscoring the Concordia bench, 26-10.
- The contest featured six ties and seven lead changes, with LTU holding a 35-31 lead.
- Concordia's biggest lead of two points came on the opening basket. The Cardinals led for the last time at the 12:05 mark of the second half when McClendon's trey made it 50-49.
- The Blue Devils responded with a 12-3 run over the next 2:24 span that culminated with Lund's 3ball on Beavers' pass.

- Lawrence Tech avenges a 72-70 loss to Concordia (Mich.) at home back on Nov. 11 to begin WHAC play, and evens the all-time series with three wins apiece.
