BYRON CENTER, Mich.--The Lawrence Tech men's cross country team ("receiving votes" in the NAIA Preseason Top-25) had another strong outing on Friday when the Blue Devils recorded 94 points for fourth-place at the 16-team Grand Rapids Community College Raiders Invitational at Douglas Walker Park.
Lawrence Tech trailed only NCAA Division II Northwood-Mich. (17), Lansing Community College (72) and fellow Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference member Aquinas (91).

Hunter Assenmacher led the Blue Devils with a clocking of 25 minutes and 23.3 seconds on the 8-kilometer course for fifth place out of 158 individuals, and sophomore
Luke Droz was right behind him in sixth at 25:25.2.
Also contributing to LTU's team score were sophomore Chase Deitrich (26:39.6, 21st), freshman
Jack Kelly (27:28.8, 40th) and sophomore
Ben Dawson 28:02.5, 53rd).
Senior Brandon Boyd led four Northwood runners in the top four with a 24:56.0 time to claim the individual title.
After an idle week, LTU is back to racing on Sept. 30 when it travels to Louisville, Ky., for the Live in Lou Classic hosted by the University of Louisville.
