OBERLIN, Ohio - The Blue Devils mens and womens cross country teams were both in action this weekend for the Oberlin College Inter-Regional Rumble. The mens runners were split into two different teams where one competed in the 8k Varsity and the other in the 8k Open. 

The Lawrence Tech Blue Devils Men's Cross Country team finished in 20th place out of 26 competing teams with a total of 492 points at 8k Varsity event.The Blue Devils were led by Aiden Brzezinski, who was the first LTU runner to cross the finish line with a time of 26:58.50, placing him 67th overall in the scoring field. Following Brzezinski, Silas Smith was the team's second scorer, finishing just behind him with a time of 27:01.10 (70th place). The remaining three scoring spots for the Blue Devils were rounded out by Graeson Lawrence (27:45.80, 102nd place), Arline Lile (27:53.40, 109th place), and Alex Eplin (28:41.40, 144th place). Marek Unger (28:51.00, 150th place) also competed for the Blue Devils.

In their second event, the Lawrence Tech Blue Devils Men's Cross Country team placed 16th out of 17 scoring teams in the 8k Open, accumulating a total of 442 points. The lead runner for the Blue Devils was Reid Weber, who finished the race with a time of 29:57.80, placing him 66th in the scoring field. The remainder of the scoring five for LTU were Noah Blandino with a time of 30:56.90 (79th place), Matthew Hall finishing in 32:33.20 (94th place), Alejandro Valenzuela with a time of 32:57.40 (99th place), and Jack Brass recording a time of 33:45.20 (104th place).

The Lawrence Tech Women's Cross Country team secured an excellent second-place finish out of eight teams in their respective event, accumulating 66 points. The Blue Devils' strong performance was led by Clara Mackey, who was the top finisher for the team with a time of 24:37.30, earning her a top-ten finish at 8th place overall. Mackey was immediately followed by two teammates who also finished in the top 10: Jamie Carr with a time of 25:42.40 (9th place) and Madison Armstrong in 25:46.20 (10th place). Rounding out the scoring five for Lawrence Tech were Eden Brewer finishing in 27:11.50 (20th place) and Emily Sell with a time of 27:47.20 (26th place). Caleigh Bovensiep (30:25.70, 45th place) and Addison Cooke (31:18.30, 49th place) also competed for the Blue Devils.

The cross country team will be competing again on October 25th for the Great Lakes Invite in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
