Blue Devils Draw on a comeback in WHAC Opener

Southfield, Mich.- The Lawrence Tech men's soccer team opened up their WHAC play Saturday afternoon against Indiana Tech. In a thrilling men's soccer match between Lawrence Tech and Indiana Tech, fans were treated to an exciting contest that ended in a dramatic 2-2 draw. The Blue Devils displayed remarkable resilience as they mounted a comeback from a 2-0 deficit to salvage a point.

The game started with Indiana Tech taking control early on, showcasing their offensive prowess. They managed to find the back of the net twice in the first half, stunning the Blue Devils. The goals were a testament to Indiana Tech's skill and teamwork, as they moved the ball well and capitalized on their scoring opportunities.

Facing a 2-0 deficit at halftime, Lawrence Tech regrouped and emerged with renewed determination in the second half. Their persistence paid off as they began to dictate the tempo of the game and put pressure on the Indiana Tech defense. The Blue Devils' efforts were rewarded when they scored their first goal, igniting hope of a comeback. Senior Skander Larfaoui netted the first goal for the Blue Devils at the 55:40 mark. 

As the clock ticked down, Lawrence Tech continued to press forward relentlessly, determined to level the score. Their persistence bore fruit as they found the equalizing goal, sending their fans into a frenzy. Sophomore Guillermo Garcia got the equalizer for the Blue Devils. 

Both teams battled fiercely in the closing minutes, searching for a game-winning goal, but solid defending and goalkeeping kept the score at 2-2 until the final whistle. The match ended in a well-deserved draw, with Lawrence Tech's second-half comeback serving as a testament to their resilience and determination.

The Blue Devils will head out to Rochester, Michigan on Wednesday to face Rochester University at a 2:00 PM Kick-off.
