Rochester, Mich.- The Lawrence Tech men's soccer team heading out to Rochester University for a WHAC matchup. The Blue Devils started off slow in the first half, only going into the second half up 1-0. Lawrence Tech really turned up the heat in the second half as they scored 6 goals. They finished the game 7-2 in favor of Lawrence Tech.
From the very beginning, Lawrence Tech asserted their dominance on the field. They controlled possession and created numerous scoring opportunities. It didn't take long for them to find the back of the net. At the 3:38 mark, Lawrence Tech's senior,
Skander Larfaoui, opened the scoring with a clinical finish. The first half ended with Lawrence Tech in control, leading 1-0.
Rochester tied up the game at 1 when they scored at the start of the second half. It didn't take long for Lawrence Tech to break that tie, as graduate student Thomas
Pereira netted his first goal on Lawrence Tech's roster. Senior
Ty Cerget added another Blue Devils goal only less than three minutes apart from Pereira's goal. At the 73:01 mark junior
Jacob Schleicher netted his first career goal to extend the Blue Devils lead 4-1. The Warriors managed to score their second goal in the 76th minute, but it was clear that Lawrence Tech had a firm grip on the game. The Blue Devils continued to pile on the pressure, with goals from
Victor Pueyo in the 77th minute and
Mohamad Ghamloush in the 82nd minute. The scoreline now stood at 6-2 in favor of Lawrence Tech. As the clock wound down, Lawrence Tech's relentless attacking play paid off once more.
Timotej Murcko scored his first career goal in the 88th minute, putting the finishing touch on a comprehensive 7-2 victory.
With this impressive 7-2 win, Lawrence Tech continues their strong start to the season and sends a clear message to their competitors. The Blue Devils will head out to Sylvania, Ohio on Saturday to face off against Lourdes University in another WHAC. Kick-off set for 4:00 PM.
