Men's Bowling Opens Up National Title Defense with Runner-Up Finish at Dirty Bird Classic

The Blue Devils knocked down 7068 pins before falling to Indiana Wesleyan in the semifinals, 2-1

JACKSON, Mich.--The defending NAIA national champion Lawrence Tech men's bowling team had its 2023-24 season opener Saturday at the Dirty Bird Classic hosted by Concordia-Michigan here at Jax 60, where the Blue Devils knocked down 7068 pins and then fell to Indiana Wesleyan in three games during the semifinals in match play.

Senior Michael Weber led LTU with 651 pins for second place out of 126 individuals. He was followed by classmate Noah Samuels (596) and sophomore Cayleb Carey (590) who also finished in the top-10 at eighth and ninth, respectively.

The host Cardinals recorded 7115 pins for first place out of 11 schools.

The Blue Devils hit the lanes again on Saturday, Sept. 30, at the Rochester Warrior Classic in Flint (Richfield Bowl).
