Southfield, Mich. - The Lawrence Tech women's soccer team hosted the Rochester University Warriors in a Wednesday night WHAC matchup. The Blue Devils fell short to the Warriors 1-0 in a rather lackluster affair, with both teams struggling to create many scoring opportunities in the rain.
Sophomore
Gabi Nelson was in goal for the Blue Devils tonight. Rochester took four shots and unfortunately for Nelson, one of those got past her.
Both teams struggling to gain possession in the first half, shots were 2-1 in favor of Lawrence Tech at the end of the first half. The Blue Devils entered the second half looking to break the tie but could not find the back of the net. In the late stages of the game, at the 80th minute, the Warriors broke the tie which lead to the Warriors defeating the Blue Devils. As the clock ticked down, Lawrence Tech tried to increase their attacking intensity, but it was to no avail. After the second half, shots were 4-6 in favor of Lawrence Tech.
The Blue Devils will head out to Sylvania, Ohio on Saturday to face off against Lourdes University. Kick-off set for 7:00 PM.
