FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich.--American Collegiate Hockey Association Division 3 nationally-ranked Lawrence Tech scored early and often on Saturday evening to cruise to a 6-0 non-conference win over visiting Trine University at the Farmington Hills Ice Arena. The Blue Devils are now 18-3-1 on the season while the Thunder stand at 4-10-1 overall.

  • Starting goalie Dane Chapman made 10 saves over the first 30 minutes, while Carson Carteaux stopped all 17 shots he faced over the last 30.
How it Happened
  • Lawrence Tech found the back of the net four times in the opening stanza. 
  • Freshman Tommy Walsh set the tone early with a goal just 26 seconds in when he ripped a shot over the goalie's right shoulder.
  • Senior Shane Percefull and De Haas scored 2 minutes and 18 seconds apart beginning at the 10:18 mark.
  • De Haas scored his second tally of the period with 95 seconds left for a commanding 4-0 advantage.
  • In the second period, freshmen Alex Grove and Jeff Rand rounded out the scoring with goals 18:01 and 11:24, respectively.

  • Lawrence Tech maintains its No. 3 position in the fifth ACHAMD3 national rankings this week.
  • The Blue Devils last night also blanked the Trine Thunder, 7-0, in Angola, Ind, behind a hat-trick by De Haas.
  • Lawrence Tech has won 15 games in a row dating back to its last loss on Oct. 15 versus second-ranked Florida Gulf Coast University, 3-2 in overtime at home.
  • Nicholas Palmer leads the Thunder with seven goals and six assists for 13 total points.
