Women's Hockey Swept by Defending National Champs Sault College

| By:
FARMINGTON, HILLS, Mich. - In an intense Central Collegiate Women's Hockey Association (CCWHA) game held at the Farmington Hills Ice Arena on November 9, 2024, the Lawrence Tech University Blue Devils suffered a challenging defeat to the Sault College Cougars, with a final score of 9-0.

The Blue Devils, who went into the game with a strong season record of 8-4-2, faced formidable opposition from the Cougars. The game began with Sault taking an early lead, ending the first period 2-0. The Cougars' momentum didn't wane, as they expanded their lead further by the close of the second period to 6-0. Ultimately, the game concluded with the Cougars securing a strong 9-0 victory over the Blue Devils.

Despite the tough game, Lawrence Tech's goalie sophomore Chloe Lemke showcased resilience and skill, managing to save 74 out of 83 shots on goal. Lemke's performance was a noteworthy element of the game, reflecting her determination and competitiveness under pressure.

The Blue Devils will not have much time to dwell on this loss as they prepare to face Miami (Ohio) for a two game series starting on November 15, 2024, back at the Farmington Hills Ice Arena. The upcoming game offers Lawrence Tech an opportunity to rebound and refocus, aiming to improve both defensively and offensively as they continue their season.
