However, the Blue Devils, staying determined, equalized the score in the second period due to a stunning goal by freshman Alexis Zielinski, assisted by graduate student Valeria Ortega, at the 16:31 mark. It was junior Katelyn Moreland who became the hero for the Blue Devils, scoring the decisive overtime goal at 1:53, assisted by Ortega and senior Sophia Buckberger.
