FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. - In an impressive display of skill and teamwork, the Lawrence Tech University Blue Devils secured a commanding 6-0 victory over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in a critical CCWHA hockey game held on November 2, 2024, at the Farmington Hills Ice Arena.

The game started off competitive, with the Blue Devils managing to nudge ahead with a single goal in the first period, scored by freshman Kalina Pernod with an assist from junior Jordyn Bebus at 9:54. The score remained tight at 1-0 until the end of the second period, setting the stage for a dramatic final stanza.

The third period was a showcase of Lawrence Tech's offensive capabilities, as they exploded with five additional goals. Senior Sophia Buckberger initiated the barrage at 12:21, followed closely by junior Katelyn Moreland at 11:22. Pernod netted her second goal of the night at 6:49, with Buckberger assisting. The scoring spree continued with Bebus scoring twice, at 1:47 and finally at 1:15, cementing the Blue Devils' lead and securing the win.

Goalie junior Rachel Hart played a pivotal role, maintaining a clean sheet and demonstrating formidable skills throughout the game saving all 35 Fighting Irish shots. The team's cohesive play and strategic execution were evident as they shut out a formidable opponent. 


SOUTH BEND, Ind. - In a closely contested CCWHA game, the Lawrence Tech University Blue Devils triumphed over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish with a final score of 2-1 on November 3, 2024, at the Compton Family Ice Arena. The win advanced the Blue Devils' impressive season to a record of 8-2-2.

The game kicked off with intense energy, and Lawrence Tech quickly gained the upper hand as sophomore Sara Bensen netted the first goal at 5:40 in the opening period, assisted by junior Jordyn Bebus and freshman Addy Langton. The first period closed with the Blue Devils leading 1-0. By the end of the second period, both teams had intensified their play, trading goals and leaving the score at 2-1. Senior Sophia Buckberger became the hero by scoring what proved to be the winning goal at 16:49, with an assist from Bensen.

Sophomore Chloe Lemke, Lawrence Tech's goaltender, played a pivotal role in securing the win, with strong support from her teammates against a resilient Notre Dame side.

Looking ahead, the Blue Devils are set to face 2x defending ACHA D2 national champions Sault College next on November 8 & 9, 2024, at the Farmington Hills Ice Arena.
