Brandon Beavers scored a game-high 32 points to tie his career high, and junior
Aaron Dolny pumped in a career-best 30 points, to power the Lawrence Tech men's basketball team to a 98-83 victory Saturday over host Northwestern Ohio at The Garage. Lawrence Tech improves to 16-8 overall and 12-6 in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference, while the Racers drop to 6-18 on the season and 5-13 in the WHAC.
Senior
Nathaniel Ward added 14 points and recorded game highs for assists (7) and blocked shots (3) with two steals, while junior
Ioannis Giannoultsis contributed 10 points. Beavers completed a double-double with a game-best 10 rebounds to go along with six assists and three steals.
With the score tied 73-all with 8 minutes and 38 seconds left, LTU blew the game open by ending the game on a 25-10 run. Ward ignited the spurt with a layup while Beavers scored 14 and Dolny had nine during that span.
Ryan Archey led UNOH with 25 points and five rebounds. Jayden Priddy-Powell chipped in 14 points off the bench and Kahlil Davis scored 13.
Lawrence Tech imposed its will inside the paint where it outscored UNOH 50-26.
The Blue Devils, who led for most of the contest, also had a 47-41 advantage going into the locker room.
Lawrence Tech will conduct Senior Night on Wednesday when nationally-ranked Lourdes comes to the Don Ridler Field House for a WHAC game, starting at 7:30 p.m.
