GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.--Senior
Brandon Beavers netted a game-high 26 points and led Lawrence Tech with eight rebounds, but the visiting Blue Devils shot just 28.8 percent from the field in a 78-69 defeat to Cornerstone in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference men's basketball action at Mol Arena on Saturday. The Blue Devils see their four-game overall winning streak halted, dropping to 17-9 overall and 13-7 in the WHAC, while the Golden Eagles improve to 19-7 on the season and 15-5 in the WHAC.

Cameron McEvans came off the LTU bench to score 17 points, and senior
Alejandro Gonzalez added 11.
Cory Ainsworth led the Golden Eagles, who shot 47.7 percent of their field goal attempts, with 20 points. Luke Rowlinson chipped in 17 points, followed by Eli Steffen with 12 and Jack Joldersma, 11. Toby Woolcock (7 points) pulled down a game-best 14 rebounds to help Cornerstone with a decisive 55-32 advantage on the glass.
Lawrence Tech once held an 11-point lead at the midpoint of the first half before Cornerstone eventually went into the intermission up 34-30.
In the second half, the Golden Eagles built as much as a 12-point cushion.
Lawrence Tech returns to the Don Ridler Field House on Wednesday (7:30 p.m.) versus WHAC foe Siena Heights.
