SOUTHFIELD--Visiting Siena Heights defeated Lawrence Tech, 67-47, to spoil senior night for the Blue Devils in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference women's basketball action at the Don Ridler Field House on Wednesday evening. Lawrence Tech falls to 11-16 on the season and 9-12 in the WHAC after its home finale, while the Saints improve to 24-3 overall and 19-2 in the conference.
Senior
Dominique Evans paced LTU with 12 points and six assists while leading all student-athletes with four steals. Sophomore
Kate Jacobs (9 points) pulled down eight rebounds off the bench.
Jakarri Alven scored a game-high 17 points on 4-for-5 field goal shooting and 9-of-10 at the free throw line for SHU. Kayla Hinton added 14 points and a game-high seven assists with five rebounds, while E'Anna Won chipped in 11 points and a game-best nine rebounds.
Lawrence Tech struggled offensively in the first quarter as the visitors jumped to a 16-7 lead after the first quarter.
In the second quarter, LTU battled to within 20-17 with 4 minutes and 47 seconds to go as Jacobs had four points and fifth-year senior
Julia Huey and Evans both hit 3balls in the 10-4 run. But the Saints ended the first half on a 9-2 run to go up 29-19 at the break.
Siena Heights, which never trailed, took control in the third quarter by outscoring LTU 17-8 to increase its lead to 46-27 going into the final frame. The Blue Devils, who were outscored 34-12 in the paint, couldn't get the deficit under 10 points.
Siena Heights went 42.9 percent from the field while holding LTU to 33.3. But the Blue Devils still have allowed just one opponent all season to shoot over 50.0 percent in a game.

Lawrence Tech will have its regular-season finale on the road Saturday (1 p.m.) when it makes the short trip to Livonia to square off against Madonna in a WHAC contest. The Blue Devils will qualify for the WHAC Tournament and will by vying for a better seed.
