ALLEN PARK, Mich. - The fourth and final Wolverine-Hoosier Athletics Conference regular-season event took place on Saturday inside Thunderbowl Lanes with the nationally-ranked No. 2 Lawrence Tech Blue Devils sweeping the men's team and individual titles.

LTU earns its second WHAC victory by knocking down 7,853 total pins (3,384 baker, 4,469 team), after also finishing first to start the season at the Grand Rapids Classic.

The Blue Devils had the first, second and third place individual finishers to earn their fifth victory overall. Senior Michael Weber knocked down 974 pins (243.5 avg), including a 269 in the first game as part of his career-best average, to win the individual title. Junior Micah Grune finished second with 958 (239.5 avg) and sophomore Cayleb Carey was third with a 944 (236.5 avg). In addition, LTU senior Noah Samuels rounded out the top five (943).

On the women's side, LTU was sixth with 6,380 total pins in the 12-team Greater Detroit Classic field. Concordia (Michigan) won the team championship and Aquinas took home the individual version.

Leading the way for the Blue Devils in the top-15 overall was junior Grace Tefend in 10th place (794, 198.5), followed by classmate Rachel Iha in 13th (787, 196.75) and freshman Brooke Kochel was 14th (783, 195.75).

Next up conference-wise is the WHAC Championships which are set for Saturday, Feb. 17 at Royal Scot in Lansing, Mich. But before that, both LTU squads will be at the Tier 1 Hoosier Classic on Friday-Sunday, Feb 9-11, at Western Bowl in Indianapolis, Ind.
