Buckberger's Late Goal Lifts Blue Devils Past Bulldogs

ADRIAN, MICH. -- The Lawrence Technological University women's hockey team traveled to close a home-and-home series with Adrian College on Sunday.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Following a chippy game on Saturday, the teams continued the chippy play on Sunday, with two players, one from each team accruing two penalties each
  • Midway through the third period, Sophia Buckberger broke the scoreless tie, netting her 24th goal of the season, with assists from Kathleen Fennessey and Athena Chapman
  • The goal would be the decider of a 1-0 game
GAME NOTES:
  • Goalie Chloe Lemke (5-3-0) recorded 22 saves and her second shutout of the season
  • The Blue Devils posted their fifth shutout this season (all on the road) 
UP NEXT FOR THE BLUE DEVILS:
Lawrence Tech continues on the road for three this weekend, starting with two at Liberty University and closing the weekend with a game at University of Maryland.
