LYNCHBURG, Va. -- The Lawrence Technological University women's hockey team traveled to Virginia, opening their three game east coast trip against Liberty.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Liberty got going early scoring a goal in the 7th minute of the game
- The Flames added another goal to take a 2-0 lead into the 1st intermission
- In the second period, Sydney Lochow put the Blue Devils on the board, off assists from Athena Chapman and Vera Pietila
- Sophia Buckberger netted her team-leading 26th goal to knot the game at 2 with 2:40 left in regulation, set up by Katelyn Moreland
- Liberty answered back almost immediately, scoring 25 seconds later to reclaim the lead
- Kathleen Fennessy found Chapman in the waning moments to force overtime
- No one scored in overtime and the teams came away with 1 point apiece
GAME NOTES:
- Goalie Chloe Lemke recorded 36 saves on 39 shots, including 5/5 in overtime.
- The Blue Devils played their second overtime game this season (both in the last week), both of which ended in draws.
