Host Lawrence Tech fell to Indiana Tech and Marian on Friday

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich.--Lawrence Tech, the defending champion, was eliminated from the 2024 NAIA Men's Bowling National Championships here at 5 Star Lanes on Friday. Updated Bracket

After earning the No. 1 seed by virtue of knocking down 5,003 pins through 24 baker games on Thursday to top the 12-team field, the Blue Devils received a first-round bye in double-elimination bracket play and got off to a good start on the championship's second day with a 4-0 win over No. 8 St. Francis (Ill.) in the second round.

But Lawrence Tech fell to No. 4 Indiana Tech, 4-3, in Round 4 and was eliminated with a 4-1 Round 5 loss to No. 2 Marian (Ind.).

Despite the loss, LTU can vie for a title at the Intercollegiate Team Championships on April 17-20 at Kingpin Lanes in Jeffersontown, Ky. The ITC was first contested in 1975 and is the pinnacle event of the college bowling season. The ITC brings together the top 16 men's (and top 16 women's teams) in the country to compete for national titles. The Blue Devils qualified as a team after placing third out of 20 schools at the Allen Park Sectional earlier this month. In addition, junior Nick Clauson will compete in the Intercollegiate Singles Championships.
