SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - The Lawrence Technological University Men's Lacrosse team hosted RV Taylor on Saturday afternoon. The Blue Devils won their first conference game 18-15. The Blue Devils are now 1-2 in conference play and 4-6 overall this season, while the Trojans now are 1-2 in conference play and 5-3 overall.
The Trojans started the scoring, going up by 2 goals. Junior Grady Holmes scored first for the Blue Devils. Following Holmes goal, the Trojans went on to score 2 more goals. Sophomore Sam Provenzano scored to cut the Trojans lead down to 2. The Trojans went on to score 2 more goals. Holmes responded with his second goal of the game. Taylor scored two more goals which closed out the first quarter. The Trojans opened up the second quarter with another goal. Lawrence Tech responded scoring two goals, and Taylor went on to score two more goals again. Junior Nick Soukup closed out the first half of the game scoring a goal. The Blue Devils headed into the second half down 11-6.
Holmes opened up the scoring in the third quarter for the Blue Devils. The Trojans scored quickly to respond back to Holmes goal. Both the Blue Devils and the Trojans scored a goal a piece. Lawrence Tech started their comeback by scoring 5 unanswered goals, closing out the third quarter with a 13-13 tie game. Taylor started to attempt to come back by scoring another goal, however the Blue Devils put up 3 unanswered goals. Taylor scored one more goal and the Blue Devils ended the game scoring two more goals, ending at 18-15.
Sophomore Jarret Willershausen played in goal for the Blue Devils, facing 28 shots and saving 13 of those shots.
Holmes lead the Blue Devils with 8 points (6 goals, 2 assist).
