LAKE WALES, FLA -- The Lawrence Techological University Baseball team traveled to Lake Wales to take on day one of the Warner University Invitational Tournament. The teams they faced today, at Lake Wales HS, were Dordt and Concordia-Nebraska.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Blue Devils got scoring early, including runs in the first and second innings
- LTU added 7 runs in the last three inning to box out Dordt from having a realistic chance of coming back
NOTES:
- Ethan Hochendoner started and pitched 4.2 IP, allowing 2 runs (both earned) on 2 hits and 4 walks, striking out 4. He earned his first collegiate win in the process
- Joel Stirnemann went 4/5 with a double, 4 RBI and 2 runs scored
- Trent Reed went 4/4 with a walk, and RBI and a run scored
- Jack Burch hit his second home run of the season
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Runs were scored in every inning of the ballgame
- Concordia scored in every inning but the fourth inning
- The Bulldogs hit 5 home runs, with 4 of them being two-run shots
- Jason Erhardt hit a home run in the seventh for LTUÂ
NOTES:
- Dominic Puccetti started and pitched 4.2 IP, allowing 8 runs (all earned) on 6 hits and 5 walks, striking out 7.
- Erhardt went 3/4 with HR, 3 RBI and 2 driven in
The Blue Devils take on Warner and Cumberlands at Warner Royals' Field tomorrow at 11:30a and 2p, respectively, for day tw at the Warner Invitational.
