LAURINBURG, N.C.--The Lawrence Tech men's volleyball team closed its spring break trip with another 3-0 victory at St. Andrews University's Harris Court on Saturday, this time defeatingĀ Campbellsville University (Ky.) 25-18, 25-13, 27-25. The Blue Devils, who improve to 14-3 on the season, also defeated the host Saints and Life University by identical 3-0 scores as this weekend's opponents have a 38-19 (.667) record combined.
Lawrence Tech excelled in all phases of the game by enjoying statistical advantages over the Tigers in attack percentage (.400-.214), team blocks (12-5), assists (38-37) and service aces (5-3). The Blue Devils also committed just 15 total errors compared to 32 for CU.

Mario Cid (.421) and sophomoreĀ
Akram AskoulĀ (.625) led the LTU offense with 11 and 10 kills, respectively. AskoulĀ led all student-athletes with six total blocks. Sophomore
Nathaniel Brownlee recorded a match-best 32 assists and added five blocks.
Denzel Madrigal topped Campbellsville with 10 kills,Ā Aleksa Plevaljcic dished 21 assists andĀ Andres Laboy provided a match-high 18 digs.
After taking the first set by seven points, the LTU offense clicked on all cylinders in the second by hitting .722 with 14 kills on 18 swings against just one error. That percentage is believed to be a school record for a single set.
The defense was the story in the decisive set as the Blue Devils held the Tigers to a .156 attack percentage.
Both LTU and Campbellsville are receiving votes in the NAIA Top-15 poll.
Lawrence Tech will be idle until Tuesday, March 19, when it will host Siena Heights in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference match-up at the Don Ridler Field House, starting at 7 p.m.
