LAURINBURG, N.C.--The Lawrence Tech men's volleyball team opened Friday's first day of the St. Andrews University with three-set victories over the host Saints, 25-21, 28-26, 25-13, and Life University, 25-19, 25-15, 25-20.
Against SAU (12-7), LTU outhit the Saints .411 to .134. Classmates
Josh Ratusny posted a season-high 14 kills and
Brendon Down added 10 to pace the Blue Devils. Sophomore
Nathaniel Brownlee chipped in 37 assists and four service aces. Junior
Connor Cooper led the defense with seven total blocks.
Lawrence Tech had another strong effort against Life by outhitting the Eagles .324-.130. Freshman
Gustavo Machado pounded a match-best 11 kills and had five digs. Graduate student
Matheus Andrade led all student-athletes with 16 digs.
Lawrence Tech (13-3 overall) concludes its spring break trip at 5 p.m. Saturday against Campbellsville University (Ky.) in a non-conference match featuring both schools receiving votes in the NAIA Top-15 poll.
