LIVONIA, MICH. -- The Lawrence Technological University baseball team traveled to face WHAC rival Madonna. Only one game was scheduled to be played today, as it is the make up of April 17's second game of the doubleheader. The Blue Devils came away 9-7 winners today, taking the season series from Madonna.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Blue Devils scored in 7 of the 9 innings
- Nick Post's three run homer gave LTU a 4-1 lead in the fourth
- Back-to-back Madonna home runs in the fifth brought the game within two
- Back-to-back doubles by Logan Walker and Tasker Tripi scored the 7th run for the Blue Devils
- Rebollar answered in the seventh with a two-run shot to make it 7-5 LTU
- Trent Reed called Rebollar's shot, and hit one of his own in the eighth
- Joel Strinemann's lone hit of the day went for an RBI single in the ninth
- A sac fly for Madonna made it 9-7 in the ninth
- The Crusaders had the tying run up to bat, but Matt Olson shut it down for the save
NOTES:
- Jake Llaneza started and went 8 IP. He allowed 6 run (all earned) on 9 hits and three walks, striking out 8. He earned the win
- Matt Olson pitched 1 inning allowing, 1 run, earning the save.
- Logan Walker led the team with 4Â hitsÂ
The Blue Devils (return to action tomorrow for two against Cornerstone April 24, the doubleheader starting at 1pm.
