Women's Soccer Blows out Concordia

SOUTHFIELD, Mich - The Lawrence Tech women's soccer team hosted Concordia on Sunday afternoon, winning 10-0. The Blue Devils record is 3-4-1 overall and 1-1 in conference, while the Cardinals are 0-4 overall and 0-4 in conference.    

Junior keeper Gabi Nelson started the game for the Blue Devils. Nelson didn't get any action in the first half. Senior Sydney Schnurstein closed out the second half of the game for the Blue Devils. Schnurstein take 1 shot from the Cardinals saving that shot. The duo completed the shutout for the Blue Devils.   

The Blue Devils came out hot with senior Kathleen Ferguson scoring the first goal for Lawrence Tech with the help from junior Reagan Boyle at the 6:37 mark. Just under two minutes later Boyle scored on a breakaway. Right of the kickoff after Boyle's goal, just under 10 seconds senior Jenny Dear put one in the back of the net. The Blue Devils dominating the first half, sophomore Hannah Pagett put one in the back of the net. Just a little over two minutes later, Boyle scored her second goal of the night extending the Blue Devils lead to 5-0. At the 39:53 mark junior Lindsay Ramos scored for Lawrence Tech with the help from sophomore forward Megan Rumija. The Blue Devils headed into the second half up 6-0. 

The Blue Devils opened up the scoring in the second half with a 2 on 0 as Dear passed the ball over to Pagett to score at the 62:30 mark. The Blue Devils put up another goal at the 71:45 mark with senior Maliea May assisted by sophomore Hinana Takashima. Pagett scored her second goal of the game just under 2 minutes after May's goal. Boyle completed her hat trick, scoring the Blue Devils tenth goal of the game.        

The Blue Devils will hit the road on Saturday against Rochester Christian at a 12pm kickoff.
