Box Score MORGANTOWN, W.V.-- The Lawrence Tech women's hockey team hit the road for their first road trip of the year to West Virginia on Thursday, winning their first game of this season 7-0. The Blue Devils are now 1-2 overall, while the Mountaineers are 0-1 overall.

Rachel Hart (1-2), made 23 saves, earning her first shutout of the year.
A slow start for both teams as the game was scoreless up until about halfway through the first period, sophomore
Sydney Lochow was able to get one part the Mountaineers goalie with the help from junior
Jordyn Bebus. The Blue Devils headed into the second period up by 1.
At the 9:19 minute mark, Bebus was able to extend the Blue Devils lead by 2, with the assist from freshman
Kalina Pernod. Just about 30 seconds later, senior
Sophia Buckberger came out on fire, scoring her first goal of the game and then another one about eight minutes later. Both of Buckberger's goals were assisted by freshman
Alexis Zielinski. Closing out the second period up by 4 goals.
Buckberger kept her spam of scoring going in the third period, starting with just 3 minutes and 31 seconds into the third period. She scored her fourth goal at the 12:43 minute mark with the help from junior
Katelyn Moreland and her fifth and final goal at the 18:44 minute mark to close out the game. The Blue Devils end the game with the 7-0 defeat over the Mountaineers.
The Blue Devils will be back in action Friday for another game against West Virgina at a 7:30pm puck drop.
