MORGANTOWN, W.V.-- The Lawrence Tech women's hockey team hit the road for their first road trip of the year to West Virginia on Thursday, winning their first game of this season 7-0. They played their second game of the series Friday, dominating with 9-1 win. The Blue Devils are now 2-2 overall, while the Mountaineers are 0-2 overall.

The Blue Devils opened up their scoring just 6 minutes and 34 seconds into the game from senior
Athena Chapman. Just a little over a minute from Chapman's goal, senior
Sophia Buckberger danced her way to the Mountaineers net, extending the Blue Devils lead to 2. To close out the first period, freshman
Alexis Zielinski won the draw back to junior
Jordyn Bebus, as Bebus walked the top of the circle and ripped a backhand into the back of the net. The Blue Devils headed into the second period up 3-0.
The Mountaineers stuck first in the second period just 3 minutes and 4 seconds in. Buckberger answered with her second goal of the game just under two minutes from the Mountaineers goal. Freshman
Kalina Pernod netted her first collegiate goal when her and Buckberger were on a 2 on 1, as Buckberger passed the puck to Pernod to put the puck away. The Blue Devils headed into the third period with the 5-1 lead.
Chapman netted her second goal of the game just 3 minutes and 31 seconds into the third period, extending the Blue Devils lead to 6-1. Zielinski contributed to the Blue Devils scoring as she won the tie up after the face off and walked the faceoff circle for a snipe in the top left corner. Freshman
Addy Langton scored her first collegiate goal at the 11:40 minute mark, making the score 8-1. To close out the scoring for the Blue Devils, Buckberger completed her hattrick at the 3:49 minute mark.
The Blue Devils will be back in action Saturday and Sunday as they continue their road trip to Robert Morris for a 2 game series.
