Mens Hockey Finishes M1 Showcase with 1 Win and 2 Losses

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 Game 1 (1/17/2025) - In an exhilarating M1 Showcase event held at Maryville University Hockey Center in Missouri on January 17, 2025, the Lawrence Tech Blue Devils overcame the McKendree University Bearcats in a closely contested game, finishing with a final score of 6-4.

The game started on an even note with both teams tied at 1-1 after the first period. The Bearcats initially took a lead in the second period, outscoring the Blue Devils 3-2. However, an incredible turnaround in the third period driven by multiple goals was crucial for Lawrence Tech, ultimately sealing their win with a 6-4 scoreline. Bradley Scott netted the game-winning goal during the sweeping comeback in the third period.

Lawrence's offensive efforts were spearheaded by assists from Adrian Gonzalez-Marin, Lahoussine Salama, Kevin Bond, Keagan Rundle, Will Jentz, Jacques Lavrack, and Lukas Robinson. Goalkeepers Brett Tome and Noah Brandau shared duties to protect the net, both playing pivotal roles in securing the victory. Their performances, coupled with aggressive play in the final stretches, highlighted the Blue Devils' strategic depth and resilience under pressure.

Game 2 (1/18/2025) - In a hard-fought M1 Showcase event on January 18, 2025, the Lawrence Tech Blue Devils fell to the University of Central Oklahoma with a final score of 6-3 at the Maryville University Hockey Center in Missouri. Despite the Blue Devils' robust effort in the latter periods, they were unable to fully recover from an early deficit.

The game started off challenging for Lawrence Tech as they trailed 3-0 after the first period. The opposing team maintained their momentum, extending their lead to 5-1 by the end of the second period. The Blue Devils, however, did not go down without a fight, scoring two crucial goals in the third period, reflecting their relentless spirit and determination to close the gap. Nicholas Berrettini, Maximus Nguyen, and Lukas Robinson picked up the 3 LTU goals

For Lawrence Tech, both goalies, Noah Brandau and Brett Tome, put up a resilient show, making 10 and 15 saves respectively. Their efforts were commendable in the face of the strong offensive pressure from Central Oklahoma. The Blue Devil skaters provided strong support, managing to assist three goals throughout the contest, showcasing team cohesion and skill.

Game 3 (1/19/2025) - In a tightly contested hockey duel held at Maryville University Hockey Center on January 19, 2025, the Lawrence Tech Blue Devils suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat against the hosting Maryville University Saints.

The sole goal of the encounter came early in the 1st period, when  the Saints found the back of the net. This early lead by the Saints set the tone for the rest of the game, with both teams showcasing strong defensive skills thereafter. Despite numerous attempts, the Blue Devils were unable to breach Maryville's defense, leaving the score unchanged through the following periods. LTU goaltender Brett Tome displayed a commendable performance, contributing significantly to the low-scoring result.

As the Lawrence Tech Blue Devils look ahead, they aim to rebound in their upcoming face-off against the University of Michigan-Dearborn at Redford Ice Arena on January 24, 2025. Holding a current record of 15-8-0, the Blue Devils are keen to return to winning ways and adjust their strategies to secure a victory in their next outing.
