Blue Devils Lose and Tie Against WHAC Opponent UMD

Game 1 (1/24/2025) - In a challenging WHAC Conference Game at Redford Ice Arena on January 24, 2025, the Lawrence Tech Blue Devils faced a tough defeat against the University of Michigan-Dearborn Wolverines with a final score of 4-1. The Blue Devils, who represent Lawrence Tech with their distinctive mascot, started the game on the back foot, trailing 3-0 after the first period. The Wolverines extended their lead in the second period, despite a spirited response from Lawrence Tech that saw them scoring their only goal of the night.

As the game progressed, contributions came from Adrian Gonzalez-Marin who scored the only Blue Devils goal of the night, assisted by Lahoussine Salama and Maximus Nguyen. Despite strong attempts to overturn the deficit, Blue Devils' goaltender Brett Tome faced a busy night with intense back-and-forth action throughout the game. The match saw the Blue Devils overturn a three-goal deficit entering the third period, capped off by a crucial shootout goal from Lukas Robinson.

The game remained deadlock at 0-0 after the first period, but the Wolverines managed to pull ahead 3-0 by the end of the second. However, the tenacity of the Blue Devils shone through in the third period with three quick goals. Lukas Robinson, along with teammates Jacques Lavrack and Thimo Ey, orchestrated the initial comeback by contributing to the first and second goals, while Lahoussine Salama paired with Robinson and Lavrack to net the equalizer.
