OXFORD, Ohio - The Blue Devils completed the sweep over Miami (Ohio) this weekend with two close games, improving their record to 6-2-0.
The Blue Devils kicked off the series with a decisive 3-1 win in Game 1 on October 17th. Forward Sophia Buckberger was the offensive powerhouse, netting a hat trick for LTU, with her second and third goal assisted by Addy Langton. Goaltender Rachel Hart was solid in net, stopping 29 shots to earn the victory.
The sweep was completed with a tighter 3-2 victory in Game 2 on October 18th. LTU's offense was powered by two power-play goals from Jordyn Bebus, assisted by Valeria Ortega and Sophia Buckberger, respectively. Buckberger also tallied a power-play goal of her own, assisted by Langton. Goaltender Chloe Lemke earned the win as the Blue Devils' special teams shined, going 2-for-3 on the power play.
The Blue Devils womens hockey team will be back in action on November 7th and 8th in a weekend series against the Chippewas from Central Michigan.Â
