Women's Hockey Edged Out in CCWHA Quarterfinals by Aurora Spartans

LIVONIA, Mich. - In a fiercely contested CCWHA Quarterfinals game, the Lawrence Tech University Blue Devils fell just short against the Aurora University Spartans, with a final score of 2-3. The game, held at Eddie Edgar Arena in Michigan on February 21, 2025, showcased intense competition between two skilled teams.

The first period concluded with the Blue Devils trailing by a goal, with the scoreboard at 0-1 in favor of the Spartans. Lawrence Tech managed to find the back of the net in the second period, thanks to freshman Alexis Zielinski, who scored off assists from junior Jordyn Bebus and freshman Kalina Pernod. Despite their efforts, they found themselves still trailing as the period closed at 1-2.

The third period saw another goal from the Blue Devils by senior Athena Chapman, with assists credited to freshman Addy Langton and senior Sophia Buckberger. However, the Aurora Spartans managed to edge ahead, securing their lead and eventual victory with a final score of 3-2. Blue Devils' junior goaltender Rachel Hart showed resilience throughout the game, facing off against a relentless Spartan offense.

Despite the loss, the Blue Devils demonstrate a remarkable season record of 16-10-3, reflecting their strong play throughout the year. Stay tuned for final ACHA rankings to see if the Blue Devils will be traveling to Nationals in March.
