SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - In an exhilarating display of skill and teamwork, Lawrence Tech University's women's lacrosse team captured their first victory of the season on February 28, 2025, outscoring Georgetown Tigers with a decisive final score of 16-10 after a tied halftime. The match took place at their home ground in Southfield, Mich.

The first half saw an evenly matched game with both teams tying at 5-5. However, the Blue Devils, led by standout performances from senior Sydney Robinson and freshman Audrey Spencer, surged ahead in the second half. Robinson, who tallied a total of 5 goals and 4 assists, played a key role throughout the game, while Spencer scored the game-winning goal in the third period, totaling 4 goals herself.

Added dynamism came from senior Hannah Huebner with 2 goals, and essential single goals were contributed by sophomore Reece Nemeth, junior Mari Pellmann, junior Bella Louwerse, sophomore McKenna VanZant, and sophomore Alyson Walendzak. Freshman Madison Gugala and graduate student Rachel Costello shared the responsibilities between the posts, contributing significantly to the win.

One of the pivotal moments was Robinson's free-position goal at 9:07 in the third period, which set the tone for Lawrence Tech's dominance in the remaining quarters. The aggressive fourth-quarter performance was highlighted as Spencer and Huebner propelled the team to widen their lead significantly.
