DEARBORN, Mich. - The Blue Devils began their dominant run in the WHAC Championship Tournament on February 20, 2026, with a commanding 7-1 victory over Rochester Christian. The Blue Devils established control early, outshooting their opponents 77-11 throughout the contest.
Hogan McNeish opened the scoring in the first period, followed by second-period goals from
Dominic Hollister and McNeish again to build a 3-0 lead. After Rochester Christian managed a power-play goal in the third, LTU responded with four more goals from
Joshua Hixson,
Zane Irion, and
Dominic Hollister's 2nd and 3rd goal to secure the hatrick and to seal the blowout, while goaltender
Brett Tome stopped 10 of the 11 shots he faced.
The semifinals on February 21 proved to be a much tighter contest as LTU edged out Cleary University 4-3 in a thrilling overtime battle. After a scoreless first period, the Blue Devils surged ahead in the second with goals from Hollister and Maximus Nguyen. Cleary fought back and tied the game at 3 with a minute and a half remaining. In the overtime period, Joshua Hixson became the hero, netting the game-winner at the 10:11 mark to propel Lawrence Tech into the championship game.
Lawrence Tech completed their championship journey on February 22, 2026, by defeating Indiana Tech 4-3 to claim the WHAC title. LTU jumped out to a 3-1 lead by the end of the second period thanks to goals from Bradley Scott, Adrian Gonzalez-Marin, and Maximus Nguyen, including a crucial power-play goal by Nguyen. Indiana Tech staged a late rally in the third period, scoring twice to narrow the gap, but Adrian Gonzalez-Marin's second goal of the game proved to be the decisive cushion the Blue Devils needed. Goaltender Brett Tome stood tall under pressure, making 38 saves to protect the lead and secure the WHAC Championship for Lawrence Tech.
