Blue Devils Fall in First Round of ACHA National Championship Tournament

MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. - In a defensive battle at the ACHA National Championship Tournament, the University of Mary staged a late third-period comeback to defeat Lawrence Tech 2-1 at USA Arena-CCIC. The Blue Devils jumped out to an early lead at 15:31 of the first period when Bradley Scott found the back of the net off an assist from Dylan Magdich, a lead that held through a scoreless second frame. LTU goaltender Brett Tome delivered a strong performance with 33 saves on 35 shots to keep the lead intact for much of the game. However, the Marauders finally broke through in the third, as they tied the game at the 11:15 mark and buried the game-winner with just over two minutes remaining in regulation. Despite being outshot 35-23, Lawrence Tech remained competitive until the final whistle, but ultimately fell just short against the Marauders' late-game surge.

With this defeat, the Blue Devils season comes to and end. The Blue Devils finish the season with a 19-8-1 overall record and added the WHAC Championship to their successful season.
