Blue Devils Post Standout Performances At The Golden Grizzlies Invite!

OAKLAND, Mich. - Lawrence Tech came away from the Golden Grizzlies Invite with one of its strongest highlights in the distance events, as Griffin delivered a third-place finish in the 1,500 meters to lead the Blue Devils in Oakland. The result added another national-level mark to Lawrence Tech's spring and reinforced Griffin's standing as one of the top distance runners in the WHAC and the NAIA.

Griffin's 1,500-meter performance carried the day for the Blue Devils. The third-place finish placed him sixth nationally and kept him No. 1 in the WHAC by more than eight seconds. It also moved Griffin into the national top 10 in two events.

On top of Griffin's performance the Blue Devils featured nine school records, two freshman records, six event wins and one NAIA national qualifier. Latrice Williams in the 100-meter hurdles hit the NAIA B standard to secure a national qualifying mark and moved into 10th place nationally.

Lawrence Tech's six event wins reflected a balanced effort across the lineup. The Blue Devils paired those victories with a wave of record-setting results, rewriting the school standard nine times while also establishing two new freshman records. The scale of the performance was clear: Lawrence Tech was not simply collecting solid finishes, it was producing nationally relevant marks and raising its ceiling in multiple areas at once.

This performance gives the Blue Devils momentum heading into next week where they will compete at the Bill Bippes Cougar Classic, April 10, in Spring Arbor, Mich.
