HUNTINGTON, Ind. - Huntington opened the scoring in the 16th minute when they found the back of the net off an assist. Lawrence Tech created opportunities for an equalizer later in the half. Despite an aggressive push from the Blue Devils, Huntington carried a 1-0 lead into halftime.
The Foresters wasted no time expanding their lead after the break. In the 51st minute, they struck again for the second goal of the match, to put Huntington up 2-0.
Lawrence Tech dominated the shot count in the second period, 12 to 8, finally breaking through in the 82nd minute.
Timotej Murcko converted a penalty kick to cut the deficit to 2-1.
However, Huntington answered immediately. Just 85 seconds later, with an unassisted goal to make it 3-1. The Blue Devils fell to Huntington with a final of 1-4.
Their next match will be Wednesday, September 16 at Blue Devil Stadium in Southfield, Mich.
